Benyy
Hi all, got two amps which are sadly doing the same thing, or near enough. When I switch on one of the amps on the first channel shows a DC fault (reason unknown) second channel shows Main SMPS is off. (referring to the manual). But the second led on both channels is staying on. When I switch the amp off the led's flash normally, but the second led on both channels remains on? Now the second amp on the first channel shows a DC fault (reason unknown) second channel shows Main SMPS is off. (referring to the manual). And makes a crackling noise? every now and then. But when I switch off the amp the red clip lights flash, like the first led's normally would? Any ideas would be much appreciated, just thought I'd ask here before a trip to fuzion. Many thanks
Oldradiohand
Might be an idea to let us know what amp you're usinghttp://www.blue-room.org.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif Does it still come up with these symptoms if the speaker leads are disconnected? It does sound like it's going to need a service engineer, though. It's probably a good idea not to go poking around inside - a lot of modern amps have switched mode power supplies which can generate high voltages which tend to linger around even when the amp is depowered. ThePaGuy
The Vortex 6 has had several "upgrades" over its lifetime. The most important one being a Heatsink stabiliser kit, without this fitted the heatsinks can vibrate and lead to broken legs on several devices, this is probably the fault with your amps,Best to contact a service centre as its not a fix for the untrained
