mundas
Hi, Can anyone give me advise on how to buy an ETC Element 60 (250 channels) and sell a GrandMA Ultra Light in Hong Kong. I have inherited the GrandMA with a job at a 300 seater theatre in a school. I want to replace it for an ETC Element since this board is more like the kind of thing students will encounter should they enter the profession, and it's a board which I know how to use. I've toured the UK extensively, never seen a GrandMA but seen bucketloads of ETCs. Buying an Element shouldn't be too hard as I can get quotes from suppliers but selling a used GrandMA is more of a challenge. Does anyone know how much a used (good condition) GrandMA Ultra Light might be worth? Or how I might offload it? Not necessarily within Hong Kong but some medium through which to advertise and ship it or sell it directly to a distributer. Thanks in advance. Jivemaster
The first hurdle is getting permission to sell the GrandMA, With the cultural and regulatory environment in the UK sometimes it's hard to sell a fixed asset and even harder to buy what you want or need from a supplier. In HK I'd expect the situation to be more complicated.

mundas
Thank you for the advise and assistance guys. I've had to table the plan to buy a desk until next summer but will be following up these avenues then. If you see this and you want to buy a GrandMA Ultra light in the summer of 2013 then please send me a message!
Gareth A
Really?! GrandMa is not as uncommon as you think. Its becoming more common. I know that Wicked, Rock you tour, Ave Q all used them as well as a few other tours. And a few venues around the country have them now. Im pretty certain BKL venues have them, and I remember a rumour that their tours will swap onto them eventually. I think most resident venues don't have them, as they are a very grown up desk, and really has too much on them for a standard venue. But for touring and big arena shows etc. Also some cruise lines are swapping over onto them. Cunard, P&O use them, and Im pretty certain a few others too. In mainland China where I am now GrandMA is the becoming the norm. Starlight which is one of the bigger companies here, use them a lot. Shanghai Expo used them everywhere and Korea Expo everything was GrandMA2 in the corporate theatres, venues, stages etc. Dont knock it straight off. You might be a little surprised how much they are becoming the norm! And if you want to see something that only the olympics (which was also GrandMA) outdid. . http://www.malighting.com/fileadmin/user_upload/malighting/Service_Downloads/Kataloge_Broschueren/Case_Study/Case_Study_World_Expo_Shanghai_2010.pdf
