Where to get MAC 500 Lens

Hi all,

Was just wondering where you would source a standard MAC 500 lens (17.5 degrees) kit in australia.

I have contacted the martin reps here and martin are not responding to them in regards to the query. none of the rental shops here will rent them, and nobody has them around. I have a 23.5 degree lens here that is useless as all our other macs are standard.

Regards, David

Hmmmm If you have tried Show Tech, then what about places like CLS, Clearlight Shows, ResX who might just happen to have an old lens collecting dust, that they would be quite happy to move on?

We tried Res X, PMLS, Production Works, Frontier Productions, Alive Technologies Group and a couple of others, we just arent sure who even has 500s left in stock

It might be a long shot, but try the Sydney Opera House - I think they have Mac500s in stock although they're not used much - might be worth a try? Otherwise the LightSite in Christchurch, NZ, certainly used to carry them and may be able to help?

I dont know of any large places that still have the mac 500 in stock in melb.

im tipping more for someone that did, or ordered one in for a non paying client, and thus has ended up sitting on the shelf for god knows how long.

matrix productions over in perth? and all things theater over that way as well. clifton?

just trying to really think of anyone who was operating when the 500's were in thier prime.

I may have access to a couple of out of service 500's - they are in our Melbourne office (or were when I was there a year ago, so hopefully they still are), so I will make a couple of phone calls for you on Tuesday (Monday is a public holiday here).
