Sound Apps

Hi Guys

Thought it might be nice to find out what Apps's (for iphones/ ipads /android, could chuck standard software in if you feel its a well kept secret)people are using and what they wouldn't recommend.

I personally use things like Real VNC for hooking into show control systems and stuff like studio manager to set delays and stuff round the venue. I use an iphone app called dB volume meter which is the most accurate I've found yet (you can calabrate it) it will max out at 103 dB though. (I might add this is just for a guideline not a proper reading)

I know Yamaha brought out the ipad stage mix haven't used it but I hear its good for monitor mixes

what apps do other people use? maybe delay calculators or freq analizers?

AV tools is the only one I have found useful, it has a few tools in there, delay calcs etc, and other bits like pin outs for standard plugs, lens calculators etc.

I have a "sound meter" on the phone, its toy really, you can "callibrate" it, but im stil not sure of the accuracy, tried a couple of freqency analysers, just for fun, I tried the same apps on 3 different android devices, and all gave differing reading, so useless for any "analysing" really.

I also have 2X client on there for RDP purposes.
