jrt007
Hi all Looking for some recommendations on LED screen sizing and (very) approximate dry hire pricing for two LED screens and appropriate controllers suitable for use on either side of a 15m Orbit Stage. Event is going to be a 7 days plus and be suitable for up to 4000 people in the (outdoor) audience. Would imagine no more than a 10/12mm pitch so as not to upset people at the front! I've looked at Barco/Lighthouse solutions but not sure where to take as a starting point for screen sizes. Would be in 16/9 format. Has anyone worked similar sized festivals/events and could point me in the right direction? Thanks! Jim
gordontech
PRG have got a demo on their website of the LED screens they have. Give that a shot and see what you like the look of. Any of the PRG account guys will be happy to help out. G
jason5d
few questions, the screens would need to be at least 12ft wide, what do you think?dry hire? do you have tech and crew? how about support? it's important for the tech and crew to be familiar with panelsthey are installing a budget screen for 4000 people - I would use 1 big 18mmstrip/curtain screen hung from the back of your stage - light weight and2 people can put it up
Ian H
lots of options and lots of suppliers. your specification sound s like more Imag rather than a Upstage Scenic Screen though both possible. how big a wing structure will be available, flown by who? Who would provide Camera package and servers? Time of year and basic weather forecast.... Well within our capabilities PM for details Ian H

Well within our capabilities PM for details Ian H Thanks for your reply - would be providing cameras and op's ourselves, but would be largely live cam, mix to DVI would be provided from FOH. including some basic graphics (PPT, Keynote etc, poss some moving flash stuff)Support would be specced to carry a line array system and the screens either side.. Something suitable of course, based on weight and wind loading... Time of year is July August and weather forecast.. hopefully not stormfronts! I'm interested in indications of an appropriate size, and of course, costings for a two week hire period given that its during the Olympics... Tech crew would be available, but would certainly consider enlisting the services of the supplier to install and be on call for the duration as for the length of the event, its not worth cutting corners... (approx 2 weeks) Location is London and security is available.. No public access to the structures or control positions. Please feel free to PM me some ideas if you like? jason5d
imag? Choose 16x9ft screens 12mm actual pitchlighthouse would probably give you the best image/price andtheir interpolation works well. why not just supply camera crew with mix and subcontract the screenIt would be wiser - leds can be funny and a gig is not the place to learn. It's during the Olympics and you are just asking now?? stage electrics have panels - not cheap but they do have lotsbtw. if you need an 18ft camera crane - see our website below
Pete McCrea
I was going to say - you might struggle to get Modules over that period. I'd second the others comments - LED has it's quirks, and you don't really want to be learning these when you have no image on screen for no apparent reason and the first band is due on in 10 minutes...
