External Soundcard

Hi all,

I am looking for a multi-output external sound card for use with either CSC Show Control (Windows) or Qlab (Mac).

I'm looking for something with 8 or more outputs which must be accessible to route in CSC or Qlab - ideally 8 on analogue outs and any more on ADAT. Interface wise, USB would be preferred, however firewire can also be considered.

Computer wise, I'm running the following:

PC - Win7 64bit, 4gb RAM

Mac - Intel 64bit, OSX 10.7.3, 8gb RAM

Does anyone have any suggestions on a suitable sound card?

I am also looking at the Audinate Dante card for the 01v96 - does anyone know if this is supported (and shows all the outputs) in CSC or Qlab?

Cheers,

Stephen

It's not directly what you were looking for, but we are using the M-Audio ProFire LightBridge for that purpose - which is an entirely ADAT card - 32 in/out on ADAT. We then connect it directly to ADAT sources, or use an ADA8000 A/D D/A convertor to break in our out of analogue. Personally I prefer it, as it can give 32 in/out on ADAT or XLR with the convertors, as opposed to the usual bodge of the first two on XLR, then six on jacks, the next 8 on ADAT, a pair of SPDIF, etc - that you always seem to end up with when you try to use every output of a combined output card.
