SoLiEn
Hello Gents, I have been trying to identify a subwoofer in one of our cinema screens as it needs repairing, The only Identifying number I have for the damn thing is FFP18400.. Getting the cabinet out is currently a nono as I have to remove the cinema screen to do it, so I was just wondering if anyone has ever come across this model number before? Kind Regards Dan p.s. I know it is likely I will have to close the screen for a day but it would be a stroke of luck if someone has heard of it before!!
gyro_gearloose
If its the driver(s) that need repairing, just send it (them) to Audio Loudspeakers. They should be able to rebuild the driver(s) even if you can't find any more information about them. Give them a ring and see what they say. As for what brand/model/etc speakers they are, I'm going to hazard a guess that they are 18 inch 400 Watt speakers made by the FFP loudspeaker company :) But since since Googling FFP gives me lots of information about Fresh Frozen Peas and very little about speakers, you may have to go elsewhere to find out any useful information. Might be worth ringing Omnex or Sound Associates to see if they know anything about your sub. Will you really have to close the screen? Can't you rent/borrow a sub while you get yours fixed or replaced? Subs in cinemas are generally used for effects so as long as you get a sub that's more or less the same as your current sub you should be ok. SoLiEn
Thanks Gyro, Yeah, have tried SA, am awaiting a response. we would have to close the screen for the time it takes us to carefully remove said screen and get to the cabinet, its a rather expensive screen (as they aways are!) and there is no other access to get to the damn thing. *sods law* Haha I too guessed 18" 400w, and I too got the fresh frozen peas, it was rather irritating! Unfortunately it seems the company who specced it originally left very little paperwork for us to follow up with, *sigh* oh well, I like an adventure :-) Thank you again for taking the time to reply.
