Nicktaylor
I have a number of PR Pilot 150s bought with used lamps. I noticed one seemed a lot dimmer than the others. While doing some maintainence I have compared them and focussed both the lampholder and the optics. It is still a lot dimmer. Would this indicate a lamp on the way out? I have to get some spares anyway, but wondered if that would make things right! Cheers Nick
Ashley R
Yes I would say that the lamp is on its way out. And if its still the factory original, the others a probably a bit dim as well. so I would replace the lot!
greenalien
I agree with what Ashley R says - furthermore, if you let the lamps run past their rated maximum hours, they can explode, and you'll then have the fun task of totally dismantling the fixtures to clean out all of the glass dust - it gets everywhere, especially into the rotating gobos, and they'll never run smoothly again until properly cleaned... Nicktaylor
As far as I know there is no way of knowing rated houses on a Pilot? I dont et enough business to make it worth changing all lamps at once. I will just change the one that is dim for now, when the spares arrive! Nicktaylor
Today replace with a new lamp, and it still loks dimmer than the others! Did not have time to tweek the alignment but thinking its either that or the lens on board need looking at as there is definite umbra/pen umbra even when moving the fron lense! dosxuk
Do the Pilot 150s have switchable voltages for the ballast?
Nicktaylor
I was not aware they do. They came as a group of four. I will have a look!
