peza2010
Evening all. last week I was running lighting for a production, as well as babysitting the sound desk for the company I was working for, as they had an outside engineer. To keep a long story short there were 12 wireless lavs on fader bank 1, and the band on fader bank 2. bus one was being used as the bands monitor feed. What the band wanted was to be able to have the wireless mics in the mix, only when they were being used outfront I.e they were on stage for that scene. So I wondered if there was a way to link the mutes on fader bank one, with the corresponding mutes on bus 1. I only had a brief play a few minutes before the show, so this question might be a silly one that doesn't even need to be asked, so apologies if that is true! RichM
Layer B only has 2 channels plus FX returns on it? Anyhoo, as far as I know you can simply assign the bus mute switch to a mute group exactly the same way as you do channels - Press mute setup, press the group number you want, then press the select buttons of whatever bits you want to be assigned to that mute group. peza2010
Mute groups wouldn't have worked when there was any number of mics from 1 to 12 live at one time, and only 4 mute groups. Also why I'm at it, is there a way to get the fx masters on to fader bank a?
Maxmccollum
If you had the layer A mics muted then the monitor sends would have been dead anyway as layer A and B are master layers, a good Op should be able to handle that, just make sure all the mics sending to bus 1 are at the same volume. I guess you could also program in which mics are on in which song and save cues and just press the next button after each tune, but I wouldn't recommend it. As long as you have the most recent update (it's on soundcraft's website) it is possible to move the fx returns to layer A, on the touch screen go to fader setup, select the channel you want to put the fader on and scroll through the options until you see the lexicon returns, assign them and the fader should turn blue. its a sweet little desk though... beats the hell out of an ls9
