scanman0_1
Hi All, I have a problem with a couple of Coemar CF 1200's both DMX related. Both units power up fine. One of them does not seem to receive a DMX signal, I have checked all the obvious things from the XLR inputs to the main board and everything seems fine. The other is fine until it receives DMX then all the motors start to behave erratically, the DMX receive LED flickers and it will not respond to the desk. Any help and advice would be great. Thank you.
beninjam
Heya, If I remember correctly the CF 1200s had phase reversed DMX (pins two and three were wired the opposite way to the current DMX standard). If you're not using a phase reverse cable this could be the cause of the problem. Hope this helps. Kind Regards,Ben.
Nicktaylor
A good tip. Having said that my experience of phase reversed kit is it does not work at all period. Be interesting to know the outcome
spantax
The CF 1200's were not phase reversed on the DMX input, so unless someone has made an intentional modification to them that wouldn't be the problem. Providing all is well with the cables running from the connectors to the PCB, I suspect you might be looking at dodgy DMX receivers.
scanman0_1
Thanks for the replies. They are not reverse DMX, but a good thought. I would think that dodgy DMX receivers is more than likely the problem, could you point me in the right direction to them? I do have several CF's so could swap them over from a working unit but would prefer to have an idea of what to swap over rather than go charging in and possibly causing more problems. Thanks again,Noel
