JCC1996
Hi, For our school's production of Little SHop of Horrors I had (what I thought was) a flash of artistic inspiration. I decided to make a sign for the entrance foyer to put above all the cast photos, but I would write the title in moss using the method shown here: http://www.popularmechanics.com/home/how-to-plans/woodworking/step-by-step-guides-offbeat-diy-projects-6 The sign is made from a piece of unfinished pine, but after painting the mixture on I am dubious as to whether it will work. Has anyone ever tried this, or anything like this before, if so: Did it work? Should it not work, does anyone have any ideas on how to make fake moss? Of any other effect that you think might work? Oldradiohand
Try a modelling shop - they have bags of various green moss like stuff for railway layouts.Paint the letters with PVA, sprinkle on the mossy effect of your choice.....
WiLL
indeed, it's called green flock and is used as fake grass in models. Failing that some florists can supply you with real moss, worth looking around.
bigclive
Maybe worth mentioning that Lidl have rolls of outdoor grass carpet at the moment. Perhaps it could be cut into letters?
JCC1996
Thanks for that. I knew there would be some sort of fake moss, I just couldn't think where it would come from!
