peza2010
If your going down the screen printing route order one as a test and slam it through as many wash cycles as possible. In the past ive had screen printing that just doesnt hold up after a couple og washes.
Modge
I'd suggest embroidery over screen printing if you can afford it. After the one off set-up cost (which isn't much in it self - I found a place that did the set-up £20 for a single colour last time I looked) it's very affordable. A lot depends on your design of course how affordable or even possible that will be. Much better looking and lasting when it's finished.
Andrew Edwards
We've been getting our student crew shirts from Vistaprint. The embroidered ones are quite reasonable but the printed ones stand up very well. The text is 'bleached' from the existing black is the best way to describe it. I have had a couple of other homemade tees from there and the white text does go a slightly grey after time. We have our crew tees printed up with grey text anyway as it disappears better in our 'black outs' anyway. PS Remember that if a logo is present you can claim tax rebate for washing at home. erroneousblack
When I worked for a Council in the 90's, we had clothing allowence, and all tops/trousers were sent off to be embroided with a tiny Council logo (ie in waistband), then they didn't have to pay the VAT as it was "uniform"! Don't think it's VAT these days, but related to tax. If clothing (including PPE I think!) supplied by an employer does not contain a logo, then taxman may treat it as a taxable benefit. Or something like that.
J Pearce
We use pomprint for our ever popular 'Team Floyd' school trip hoodies. We have the school logo stitched and the trip graphic plus student 'custom text' are printed. I've still got one from 3 years ago that's had plenty of washes and the print is holding out well. Prices are good too. If you go to their website there's even some show pics of ours...
mac.calder
Try and get cool-dry polo's if you can... They tend to look neater than regular ones... and they keep you nice and cool whilst you are working up a sweat.
