apexsoundandlighting
Hi Guys,I have a fairly small rig (2xMH, 4xScan, 4xLED PAR,1xDualScan, 1xLaser + 1Strobe), and we currently control all of this using Chamsys MagicQ PC on a PC with 2 Monitors, one with playback window showing, other with main application. Currently the whole thing is run off 12 playbacks that we can trigger with the keyboard by putting the application into Playback mode. I was wondering if it was possible to trigger the 'wing' playbacks listed in the PB window with a keyboard. I have attempted to use macros but I don't seem to manage to get them working. Also, because the software is in Playback mode, the playback selectors that use the keys on the keyboard would override any Macros. Thanks For Your Help Mat
DonkiDonki
I can't recommend highly enough that you get an ELO touchscreen monitor. Used 15/17" go for around £100-200 and make MagicQ a joy to use.
Pat
I don't think that is possible with the keyboard. (Also the reason why the soft is for free? They have to get somewhere money for their programmers) With an extension playback wing you can do it but cost money but a nice option (12 PB's or more).A touch screen , I use IIYAMA x 2, it is possible and with 2 screens you can put all PB's on a dedicated touch screen. Split use.
apexsoundandlighting
Looks like the general consensus is to go for touch screens. I was looking at going down that path anyway but was attempting to keep my costs down. Looks like I have no choice :)Thanks,Mat Butler

(I use a PC wing and two touchscreens)
peza2010
Do you mean your computer keyboard? Or a musical keyboard via midi?
Pat
Do you mean your computer keyboard? Or a musical keyboard via midi? It is not possible via a computer keyboard but possible with a musical keyboard if you buy the Chamsys MIDI interface.I see no use in the MIDI interface for this problem. It is better you buy two touchscreens. More PB's on one screen.
