Cerwin Wega INT-152 V2

Hi all,

 

Cerwin Wega has these new 15"ers out: INT-152 V2. Or maybe they are not that new anymore? Anyway, I am considering getting a pair for a befriended Church band. Any news on those cabs? Any good? Or just average? I know, they are budget, but are they worth the money? About 350 USD a piece, where I live.

Or are the Yamahas A15 (290 USD a piece) preferable and why?

I don't think its a brand much of us would have exposure to.

 

We might be able make an educated guess based on speakers datasheet and some information about what they are being asked to do.

 

Can you tell us a bit about how you hope to use it.

 

(eg Sitting on the ground, on top of a stand, being flown?)

 

How big is the audience?

 

What kind of volume are they after, do they fancy themselves as rock stars?

 

What kind of room is it they perform in?

 

Have you thought of using the money too instead buy a better brand secondhand?

Cerwin Wega are probably most famous for their earthquake bass bins, the size of a refrigerator. B-)

 

What I’m planning to do is use them in a (Catholic) Church, a quite reverberant room, holding max. 400 persons, on stands (the speakers, not the persons), and no, the band is not a band of rock stars, but an electronic drum set is going through them, and vocals. Guitar and bass have their own speakers.

 

Yah, well, I’m not yet decided what to get for them, I’m just gathering information.

I was first considering Yamaha's A12 or A15 before I came across the Wegas.

 

So - a few opinions would help, reviews or even comparisons are hard to find, even on Google…

Aka KAM Extreme.

Budget Chinese drivers. Reasonable sound if you dont push em too much.
