Little Nexo system

Recommended Posts

Hi this is my first post so I'll try and keep it short and sweet.

I play in a 2 piece function group, comprising of vocals keys and bass,

We are using 2 x PS10's,2 x LS500's and a PS10 amp.

My question is this, I have been told the PS10 amp actually has 4 separate amps inside, enabling it to power 2 tops and 2 subs.

Although the system works fine I feel the subs are putting out the same volume as if one was connected.

Would I have to use a separate td controller and amp (I have a spare Macrotech 2400) to power the 2 subs and leave the PS10 amp solely for the tops?

If this is the case would anyone recommend using the aux fed subs method putting bass guitar and backing tracks through it?

I currently run the nexo amp in stereo, one speakon lead from the amp to the ps10 then another from the ps10 to the ls500 per side.

Any help would be appreciated

Regards

Stuart

Not according to Nexo it doesn't...

The PS10AMP has two inputs, L and R, and three outputs, L, R and summed LSub out. The PS10AMP Configuration switch automatically configures the unit for 2 channel mode (LSub Off), where the PS10AMP drives 2 to 4 PS10 Loudspeakers in stereo ( 2x 850 Watts/4 Ohms) or 3 channel mode (Lsub On), where the PS10 AMP drives 2 PS10 Loudspeakers in stereo (2 x 430 Watts/ 8 Ohms) and 1 LS500 Subwoofer (850W/ 4 Ohms) with a summed mono signal of the L+R input signals.

Could you confirm the amp model you have?

Hi Brian, the amp is a mk1 camco ps10, before I got the amp I was using a controller and 2 amps running the tops and 1 sub.

I wanted to free up the amps for another system so I spoke with one of the techs from Fuzion who assured me the ps10 amp would power all cabs. This seems to be true but I feel the amp is just splitting the normal power available for one sub to the 2 subs. Does this sound right?? And would I have to go with the 2 amp option and separate controller

Thanks

Stuart

Yes

Yes, that'll give you the control of the bass you want without having to worry about "muddying" what's coming out of the mid/tops
