options for midi interfacing between resolume on macbook and lighting

looking for the easiest option for midi interfacing between resolume on macbook pro and lighting pc when neither computer has midi card (or can have it) is there an option to use usb with covertion box ??!?!

MIDI Over Ethernet?

 

The first Google result for a cross-platform application is this, although there are bound to be others which work on both PC and Mac.

yeah saw about midi over lan .... don't really want to tie up the eithernet port tho

As far as I know, since it's using ethernet, it can run simultaneously with other transmissions using the port, and even across a standard LAN. Although I don't know what latency would be like.

 

However if you wanted to use a hardware option you could always use USB MIDI interfaces to create a MIDI link.

yeah went the usb route

but still can't seem to get them to work .

make sure the out is going to the in - sometimes the plugs are confusingly labelled.

 

use a midi monitor such as http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ to check your getting data.
