A sound issue I had....

I had an event back in october where my speakers really did screw me over... Usually I use a dj mixing box to play audio discs at my events, but this time round I needed vocal mics.... so I got an analoge sound desk in and rigged it so the usual CD player on the dj mixing box went through the desk to the speakers, the mics work fine, but their was a terrible noise from the other audio... the speakers just rattled and made a real bad bass punching noise.... the speakers still work okay now though

okay- CD player (Like a DJ kind) goes into the two channles set for this (L + R) using phono cables..... L + R speakers connected from the desks out put by XLR... I know everything is correct as it was plugged into the theatres sound system and it was fine.... so somewhere between the desk output and the speakers is where the problem lies....

Hmmm...

A basic DJ setup is, well, pretty basic.

The fact that at each stage you MIGHT have XLR connections could confuse.

The CD can bypass the mixer without any problems as long as you use an appropriate amp input.

But the output from the amp should NEVER go into a mixer input.

How much like this simple diagram does your setup look?
