drowner77
Hi, I have been watching this system on ebay and thinking about getting it, but want to know if the price they are asking is correct. I have made an offer of £8500, but they seemed insulted... Any thoughts? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nexo-Alpha-E-PA-stacks-12-cabs-Nexo-NX241-processor-2x-Camco-Vortex-6-amps-/160673409150?pt=UK_ConElec_SpeakersPASystems_RL&hash=item2568e1a87e
GR1
I might have missed something but I don't see where in the Ebay listing the seller invited offers. If you have poitely registered an interest at your price for them to consider in the event of it not selling there is no need for them to be rude - I just ignore those messages. As to what it's commercial value is, it is very difficult to say because it has been used for quite a while by a number of users so it could be in anything from pristine to poor condition and in addition only you know what work you have for it and how quickly you can recoup the hire outlay as a capital investment and start making a profit. Sorry if this isn't quite the answer you were hoping for, graham Hi, I have been watching this system on ebay and thinking about getting it, but want to know if the price they are asking is correct. musht
Dunno a lot about sound equipment to be honest, but the vendor appears to be quite keen. Bought ex hire more than 2 1/2 years ago then put on a 2 year tour and then been out `a few times` over the summer. Then goes on to quote new list prices of the equipment. So minimum of 3 years old with unknown history, how many hires to DJ Blunderbuss and his mixer that goes to 11 is not disclosed. "ready to work" in my humble experience has never been a phrase of encouragement, should normally read "ready to work on" "show it to you all working" presunably the vendor has premises suitable to run the systen at full tilt for an extended period to assure you it is "all working!" As said know little of professional sound equipment but 2 amplifiers to run 12 cabinets including 6 off 18" subwoofers seems rather few? There is detail and there is important detail, on a system costing north of 10 grand "3 X 8 PIN SPEAKON 3 MTS ONE VERY KINKY" is probably not what would regard as important detail. If the used PA market is like used lighting the world is awash with the stuff, making it very much a buyers market, be picky ;-) But then again , ebay item could be a complete bargain: http://www.crystalpro.co.uk/complete_pa_systems.htm
i_hate_fisicks
If you were to buy those boxes individually, I would expect to pay in the region of £1000 each, so with 15 boxes, you're looking at £15000 or so, as borne out by the link above to Crystal's site. So on the face of it, £10000 is a good price. However, it is a buyers market for PA at the moment, the prices of conventional boxes have fallen massively. So perhaps they'll reconsider your offer before long. Consider if you buy this rig that you'll need something to stack it on to use it properly. A couple of decks on 4ft legs say. Or a suitably high stage everywhere you take it!
