Adam L F
Hi everyone, My google skills aren't what they used to be, or perhaps I'm just trying to search for the wrong thing, I'm looking for a chassis which is essentially Cat6e to 5pin DMX, something like this: CLICK HERE Although, behind I'd like to be able to insert a Cat6e cable. I've seen these type of connectors around, but for the life of me I can't remember where to source them from, I've tried the normal well known shops but they don't seem to stock them. Any help would be appreciated. :) Cheers,Adam L F
paulears
I've never seen interseries chassis sockets - the cat 5 ones are becoming common now - even got one on my guitar - but the only common D size chassis connectors with pass through to sockets on the rear haven't been XLR - to Cat 5. Is there actually one of those, because although we know it works, is it something that would sell in enough numbers because no other industry would have the need, would they? Adam L F
Yes they’re around :D But for the life of me I can’t find where to get my hands on a few, the only thing I’ve managed to get my hands on so far is one of these beauties: http://cpoint-lighting.com/pro_products/index.htm I’m quite surprised how this industry is turning into a glorified ICT network too, I’m looking into future proofing at the moment as a project for university, and having seen them around I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a few, as we already know most of the new Robe kit is coming with 3 pin, 5 pin and RJ45 sockets, as well as the new GrandMA desks. Andrew C
I'm quite surprised how this industry is turning into a glorified ICT network too,The industry isn't, just some of the tools that some of us use to support it. Lovies still act, and singer still sing. We still use our skill (or otherwise) to augment their performance in an artistic way. We just use digital tools, rather than analogue (or even gas / candles). That said, those adaptors look damned useful!
Gnome
Hi Guys Bear with me. I use a number of these, they're listed on the Neutrik UK website. I think that I sourced them from either Canford or Studiospares, but I am probably wrong. May have been CPC. I'll check up and get back. Martin
Is this what you are after. Canford do both gender XLRs. If you are wanting to terminate bare cat5 cable, then these are usually better, since you don't have to put the RJ45 connector on first. Hope this helps, Regards, Martin

TomHoward
Does anyone know anywhere that sells those inline adaptors earlier on the page in the UK? They look useful for easily sending DMX down Cat5 tie lines.
