mightyfox
Hello everyone - nice to meet you. I have just joined, please take a look at my website :) Question - I am about to do a tour with a band across the US. The rig involves 6x 8 cell blinders with scrollers, evenly spaced upstage just off the floor, to provide a big punchy backlight look. Does anyone have experience with scrollers for 8 cells, and what gel colours work well? I am looking for some big saturated looks, as well as some interesting pale colours with higher transmission. particularly interested in a CTB or similar to match with HMI sources, as well as creating a 'steel' look. thanks in advance! ed whitewww.ed-white.co.uk

mightyfox
Pete, have you actually used 181 'congo blue' on an 8 cell blinder scroller? with such low transmission I would expect it to melt pretty much instantly but maybe the forced air cooling is better than I thought! edcant go wrong with abit of lee 201, 152, 181, 113, 158 etc
niclights
In my experience the dark blues lose too much. Generally I suggest gels with high transmission.
mark_s
L711 is a brilliant colour to match tungesten to HMI, and in general as a cold blue. Transmission is a bit low though.
