Would it be better to get a decent editing package and be fully familiar with it prior to saying that you are in the business of editing wedding videos. Brides will happily sue someone who messes up on their big day, and with bridal forums on the web actually encouraging brides to complain just to get some money off having sub standard kit or skills is not a good business plan.

A popular way is to save the text as an image with a transparent background (.PNG format ? ) and then just set it as the foreground video or overlay, and add the motion to it. You can add the motion as a transition in, then out. You can create the transparent text image in a free program like GIMP.

There are more editors able to do this with an image rather than text generated within the program itself.

You might want to have a look at the following forums, who deal in videography - all kinds, including weddings.

DV Doctor

DV info

digital director

DVX user

However - mention the word free and you'll get a frosty response. Decent edit software worthy of being paid for using needs funding. The free editors are usually just not good enough to do the very common things wedding (and most other video editing people) need.

Your profile says you already make wedding videos - so what are you using at the moment, then we can perhaps comment further. It also depends on your kit. So a cheap SD camcorder can be edited on Windows movie maker and if it just needs topping and tailing, it may be enough - but it is woefully short for any real creative editing.

We're a backstage and events forum, so we tend to cover video from a performance aspect - and our needs are very different to what the average wedding person needs. Those forums above tend to be pointed towards certain areas, but most have a wedding section.
