Caterers

Hi All,

Bit of a weird one. I need to find a caterer to JV with for a tender. Basically they need to feed a lot of people three square meals a day (and night) for a month or so in a structure we would provide. Any of the festival production management people out there have any contacts they could share?

Thanks,

Chris

There are a lot of them but Eat To The Beat are my preferred one. They also run a high-end catering division which did us proud if that is the quality required.

One caterer for many for a month is a bit unusual and there are only so many who would take on the job as they could lose some regular contracts if it is "in-season".

Look in KFTV.com for location caterers in your area of interest. Maybe be satisfied with a change of company during the run. Maybe look for wedding catering people close to your intended location. As it's for a long period maybe some input into the menu and dietary needs may be good, as would consideration of the number of levels of messing, and some dining rooms for meal based meetings.

What makes a catering company 'good' IMO? The ability to do decent meals, whatever the per head budget they've been given...

I've encountered pretty much all the names listed here and had both good and bad experiences (usually not enough food) with them all. Sometimes they can have been given nearly sod all, but still managed to rustle up really filling, interesting meals. Other times (I know) they've had a very good budget and the foods so bad you'd have just rather been given PD's and told to fend for yourself!

Just my thoughts :)
