TV Studio Smoke/Haze

Funny how these things come around again after a few years. Just a quickie that 'most studios' only use what the LD wants them to use. The LD with whom I do most of my work still prefers the Cirro machines for their even haze and good hang time. There is a school of thought that the MDG machines produce 'lumpy' haze but everyone has their favourite.

Cheers

I've found the best hazer in the world. Sorry for the rotten iphone picture, but ignoring the white out at the bottom, today we had perfect, even haze. Invisible until the light hit it, and it looked really good, in fact, the best we've had - ever! You have to take my word for the fact the beams were very visible, and looked lovely.

You may wonder what kind of hazer we had? None at all!

Today was a damp day, and what we actually had was real North Sea fog - inside the building!

Noticed similar on a few occasions whilst doing overnight programming on festivals. Perfect natural haze out front, with a combination of natural and a bit of DF50 on stage :)

first ive heard of an MGC do that - as you sure the block was running at the right temperature? I have 2 here, and have never had any deposition, even after a machine and moving lights being operated together on 2 month hires

Hi

No idea, although in retrospect they had been there for three years, and not really been cleaned at all since they were installed.

Until I got there, at least.

All the best
