Dual Output Switcher / Scaler

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have become involved in a project quite late and need to do a bit of fire fighting. We are in the process of building a new meeting / training room. There are two 52" Led displays currently lined up for installation. We need a switcher with two outputs that can send one of up to 4 VGA or Composite signals to either independently. I have looked at AMX, Kramer & Crestron and nothing seems to stand out.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Garry

Analog Ways Diventix II should do the trick...

Im not sure how much keying , pip and edge blending you will be doing if the outputs are a brace of lcd screens, and you may want to look at the price on the diventix if you want a laugh...

Im assuming that you simply want any signal to any screen? If its 4 vga - 2 outs plus 4 composite - 2 outs the neatest, best quality and most cost effective approach is to use a 4/2 vga matrix and a 4/2 composite matrix, and switch at the screen and matrix at the same time. Id use kramer myself and use a amx 16 button or pair of 8 button control panels { actually a 8 burton master and 8 button slave} that way screen a has 8 input buttons as has screen b, that wat its totally obvious to the enduser as to how to get the laptop . dvd etc on the screens. all you need to do is select the correct in - out on the matrixes and either the vga or video in on the monitors which is the simples of macros in the control system, did an install recently that was almost identical and it works well. You can get scaling matix switchers, but for such a simple setup its going to be overkill and running 1 extra cable to each screen is no great hardship.

Alternatively, get a KVM to manage the VGA switching, and then get something to convert composite to VGA. Raritan make multi input multi output KVMs with RS232 control.

IT VGA switching is a lot cheaper than broadcast VGA switching, if switching is all you need to do.
