hi guys, I have a powermate 1000 mk 1 and im currently using with passive ev subs and tops. I wanted to add a stage monitor so I bought a cheap qtx active speaker. I dont know how to connect it correctly to the powermate, and any help would be much appreciated.

on the back of the speaker these are the inputs/outputs. mic socket, and phono line in/out and mix out.

if anyone is familiar with the powermate can you please get back to me. thanks!!!! My link My link

I'm not familiar with the QTX but am with its shape! Looking at the back panel take aux 1 feed from your powermate into mic input 1. Set the Mic volume(Blue) to half way turn the echo off and set the volume (orange) flat out then gently turn up aux 1 on the power mate to suit. Once you have an acceptable level in the monitor youi can adjust the treble and bass to your taste. This should get you started.

Normally you would but as the line sockets are unbalanced phono's I think using the mic input and controlling the input gain on the mic volume would be a safer/more reliable rout

The line input is on a notoriously flimsy and unreliable phono connector - in fact all the input connectors on this box are non-standard unless you are talking about home audio. The mic input is on a slightly more reliable Jack so it would be preferable to use this connector for stage use. If you keep the mic volume down below half way and keep the aux send control on the Powermate below half way as well you are unlikely to cause too much damage.

I keep my dB Technologies monitors set to mic level as they're often used directly with guitars/keyboards as well as with a mixer. They may be theoretically more susceptible to overload, noise and interference with this setting but in practice they work fine.
