Jands Vista. question.

Hi I'm doing a support gig with a company using a Jands Vista, the operator says he can't just fade in the lights as all channel values go to zero when programming / operating. not sure which mode.

I asked if the intensity cant be set seperately, he said no. All channels drop to zero when programming cues, can somebody advise me if there is a setting he is not getting.

by the way the operator is Spanish and I am doing my best to make myself understood. just thought it was strange every time he programs a cue, the lights all go to zero fade up and beams come on at the same time.

I use a Vista and can't think what he is doing. When saving the cue is he doing 'store active state'? I think this will store channels with no data at zero, but then this won't explain why things are dropping to zero on each cue.

This is only when programming, I think, but he explained to me to activate a stored cue, presumably using an encoder, all the values start at "0". as every time he selected a cue for editing the whole rig illuminated the audience area as he bough up the cue, ie no move when dark , or cue positions first then intensity fade up.

He showed me that as far as he can tell there is no option to activate the shutter seperately.

he is using a Vista T2 version 3.11 software.

A quick work around would be to edit the clip, and then go into the timeline, You could then delete all of the @0 channels, and also move the dimmer attributes to the end of the fade time, so that all the live changes are hidden?

Richard,

There are two things that spring to mind.

1) Check the two faders in the programmer wing - both need to be pushed up, primarily the left hand one, as this is the programmer intensity master.

2) Is it possible he has put the console into "Highlight mode" and for some reason the highlight settings have been set to intensity at zero. This would explain why fixtures go to zero when selected. You can tell if you are in highlight mode as an icon on the top tool bar will be illuminated pink. (Normally top right)

Please can you clarify the software version as well. If it is Version 1 as I think it is, it will look something like the following 1.13.5307. You can find this by clicking the main Vista menu and "About"

Please let me know how you get on.

Regards

Andy.
