RoyS
Hi All, I'm trying to find some of the above. Can anyone point me in the right direction.. Many thanks
Locksmith
If you open the component browser and search for 'stage deck' you will find a 4 x 8 Staging Dimension deck on 16" legs and other useful stuff. Hope this is more helpful.
musht
Not sure if Ali Stage is the same thing, few models in 3D Warehouse http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/cldetails?mid=d9d5e6e5f804bb9f1180d89341621d&ct=mdcc&prevstart=0 Steeldeck and Strata risers in there as well
RoyS
Hi Musht & Locksmith and thanks for your helpful responses. When I originally searched I found these examples and others. The models I’m after are the full spec type including zigzag cords upper and lower beams, bolt holes, the full shebang. The reason for this level of detail, is that I’m trying to persuade the grownups to part with cash to buy and therefore want to show them a full product, not just a 8x4 slab on legs. Our work is all about details isn’t it…… Again. thanks for your positive help… Roy
kerry davies
Alistage has solid side members, Litedeck and Steeldeck have the truss frames you describe. Would not some photos from the websites be sufficient to show the powers that be? Steeldeck USA, Alistage, Litedeck and I believe the Maltbury websites have sample configurations that can be built with the units. If you need glossy sales brochures then a couple of phone calls would do, if you said you were in the purchase market.
musht
Manufacturers will probably have CAD models to a high level of detail, just not in the public realm, it`s a construction drawing for the unprincipled. Sketchup is pretty good at importing other formats.
RoyS
Hi Kerry et al, The folks I'll be pitching to will be more impressed with a spinning, rotating, zoomable 3D presentation than a static pic. Your suggestion re importing an alternative CAD format is a great idea... I'll contact the manufacturers and report back. Many thanks.
TomHoward
What about hiring a 2x4 section of deck and taking it along with you?
RoyS
Hi Tom, I could probably borrow one .... Cheers.
techie_101
couldn't you have a stab at making one yourself by importing models of trussing and making a 8X4 square and sticking it on top and then adding in a few details? just a thought and would save you a lot of time making the trussing (mainly because it's tricky getting the zig zag lines on it, I know from experience) and other components if you can't find them on the 3D warehouse on sketchup. I can have a stab at doing one day if you would like.............
