VickyW
Hello All, I've been looking for an XS women's Harness, to fit someone who is 5'2" tall and has a 24" waist. The Yates Voyager (womens) would be ideal, but to my dismay, the XS is not UL or CSA.What I'm looking for is a work harness (Y-style across the chest) that has attachment/positioning points at waist, hips, chest, and back (dorsal), and is CSA approved. I'd appreciate any suggestions or information. Thanks, Vicky
ramdram
IF there are no items in your size is there any chance you could negotiate a bespoke unit? Yes it might be a fair bit more expensive, but, can I presume you can set the expense against income tax? I am presuming further your tax folk will allow for items you have to have for your work, not to mention your "well-being". Presumably if you were employed, as opposed to freelance, from your profile, your employer would provide this PPE kit free? Ergo there might be a supplier who is used cobbling up extra small? Riddle
A bespoke unit would be a great idea, however it would still need R&D, testing and manufacturing. A one off harness for the OP would cost in-excess of £5000. That assumes that a manufacturer would be willing to stop a production line just to make one harness. However, a friend of mine has recently set up a company in Canada and has carried some extensive research on the various standards and what can and cannot be used is the different Canadian Provinces. David Bond at Show Restraint maybe able to offer you some advice and support on which harnesses can be used in which Provinces. It would be a great excuse to consume gallons of Maple Syrup. Shortly before Troll's Uppermill factory closed down, they made an extra small Ibexx for a colleague of mine for the same price as a standard one minus a small discount. Fortunately he's eaten a few pies since then and now fits into a standard size. That's 'progress' I suppose.

We have worked with him on a couple of 'crossover' projects and SAR manufacture some components which we have used in the manufacture of some of our theatrical harnesses. He is most approachable. (Postage to Canada isn't prohibitive?). We don't manufacture for retail, but having also seen the versatile production process at SAR, I'd be amazed if the suggested cost of £5000 was anywhere near the mark. Seano
That company morphed into:http://www.sar-products.com/index.htmlFollowing Troll's acquisition by Baccou-Dalloz, closing down and wotnot it seems the Troll name has also made a bit of a comeback in the UK. (Postage to Canada isn't prohibitive?).Not an option for the OP I suspect, since she's looking for a harness certified to North American standards. To the OP:Are you really sure that one size of that Yates harness isn't certified? That seems quite bizarre to me - why not??I've been looking for something online to suggest why, but can't find anything that says it isn't certified, let alone why not. eg: Nothing here (or on the list here) suggests it isn't certified. Yates sent me the spec sheet and it actually says the xs is not UL I'm not sure why.
Seano
Yates sent me the spec sheet and it actually says the xs is not UL I'm not sure why.I don't know what to suggest in that case. I guess the obvious thing to do would be to get in touch with Yates and see what they can tell you.

Actually, by Costa Coffee standards, the dog harness is a medium. This would be a small.
