ScreenMonkey: Controlling a Powerpoint using an RF pointer

Hi All,

I’m using Screen Monkey (3.6.21.3) and am trying to use a RF pointer to control a Powerpoint PPT from within SM.

The host PC has Powerpoint 2007 and I can control the advance of slides using the pointer if I open the PPT within Powerpoint.

If I open the PPT in ScreenM it opens file and can be advanced my using the keyboard keys – but not the RF pointer…

Are there any SM settings I need to alter?

Many thanks.

You probably need to edit the Keyboard Hotkeys in the ScreenMonkey. Go into the settings and select Keyboard & Mouse on the left side. Find the Advance slide (or similar) option and map it to the keys on the pointer (usually Left/Right?).

Sorry that's a bit vague I know, haven't got ScreenMonkey on this PC so cant check it out - but it should point you in the right direction?

Hi Nick,

I'm trying to link a couple of buttons via the Settings > Mouse and Keyboard section where I'm presented with the following list:

Dashboard

Audio Layer Playback

Layer1 Playback

Layer2 Playback

Layer3 Playback

Layer4 Playback

Profiles

Layer Transparency

Space

Flash Clip

Song Clip

So far I have not placed my content in layers, so by default I assume they are in the Active Layer. In the above list there are no options for controlling the Default Layer...So therefore:....

I assigned all my content to be in Layer 1. Then via the above list navigated to Settings > Layer 1 Playback and had the following controls:

Play Clip

Clip Forward (Go)

Clip Reverse

Rate

I clicked on each of these and pressed a different button on my pointer. As I press the pointer buttons, SM reported that it had seen my button press.. I then saved my show. I then clicked on the PPT, which then displayed on my second screen.

But the pointer buttons had no effect.....

Just checked on mine. Look under Dashboard on the Mouse & Keyboard menu and there is an Next Slide and a Previous Slide option.

Connect your clicker, press the Next Slide button and you will see the name of the key appear in the toolbar at the top. Then double click the Next Slide option which will turn it bold and map the two keys together. Repeat that for the Previous slide and you should be well away.
