dogcop
Hello blue-roomI have a Sony HVR HD 1000E semi professional camera. Yesterday in church it started behaving strangely. The LCD touch screen wouldn't work at all. The remote for the zoom would not work at all and when I manually zoomed to a tight position the zoom would reset itself to a wide zoom unless I held the zoom in tight manually. I tried resetting to factory settings and switched the unit back on. Obviously you have to reconfigure the time date settings etc and this uses the touch screen which still was not working. Any ideas anyone. Oh BTW SOny help line should be done under the trade descriptions act for being completely unhelpful
jason5d
Sounds like it needs repair, if it is still under warranty send it back to SonyIf not, the company I work for can repair it for a very reasonable price www.5dg.org
Tom Baldwin
Could the touch screen have suffered mechanical stress? If the bezel is pushing against the screen, that may prevent any other presses being registered (depending on touch sense technology), and it may also line up with the part of the screen used to control zoom. AHYoung
Ive got the same camera, and im pretty sure its been on the market less than a year so is under warranty even if its a consumer 12 month warranty , dont mess about get whoever you bought it from to either sort it or broker a repair with sony, If its failed in normal reasonable use, it should get repaired FOC, however if you send it to a 3rd party for a repair, you give sony a reason not to honour the warranty...
