Simon Lewis
Hi, Toby, This seems an unusual request? If you are at the stage of being able to design "big concerts" at Wembley, one might reasonably assume you would either be working with a large firm that has this information or would be in touch with the venue & organisers? It wouldn't be some form of homework by any chance? Simon

lite_lad
depending on how accurate you need to be, its a full size football pitch ;)
Mat
Ah a homework question. Your best bet is not to post here as there will be very few people with the figures you require to hand and most likely, they won't come across your thread.Your best bet is to contact the venue. Their general contact line is 0844 980 8001 whereas their venue hire callback line is 020 8795 9660Enjoy!
dbuckley
Y'know, it must be really annoying to the venue when some tutor sets something like this for a question. How many students will call up asking for plans, ideas, and just want to chat for half an hour...
Seano
depending on how accurate you need to be, its a full size football pitch ;)There's something in this. To a certain extent, the bigger the venues get the more they're all the same.Depending on what the OP means by "design a concert" the venue could even be largely irrelevant. Certainly as far as lighting design goes, its not as if you'll be using a 'house' rig. A hint for the OP:There are *lots* of magazine articles available (eg: in the online version of LSI) about large touring productions, if you haven't already you should read a few of them. If you go to the Star Events Group website (they'd be one of your more obvious options to supply the stage and other structures - FoH control, spot platforms, etc..)On the Stage Downloads page you'll find a document called 'VerTech Stages and Structures 2009'. It might also be an informative read. Also, if you check out Stageco's website you'll find info there on the kind of stages they might supply as standard, as well as case studies of the kind of custom structures they might supply if your imaginary budget is well into the 'megabuck' range. Y'know, it must be really annoying to the venue when some tutor sets something like this for a question. How many students will call up asking for plans, ideas, and just want to chat for half an hour... A bit irritating I guess, but much less so than it is for hire companies being asked to quote for a few sheets of Steeldeck or a couple of trusses. At least when Wembley Stadium gets a call from a teenager looking to book the venue for a gig they'll pretty much know straight away that it isn't a 'serious' enquiry. ;)
