Big AJ
Hi Guys,I have recently made a complete switch from all PC's to MAC.One of my most on-site used programs was Bluff Titler from outer space software. For those of you who have never used it it was a 3D titling software but it was great for creating moving plasma/starfield backgrounds etc... and throwing effects onto images and text. This could be shown in realtime fullscreen without the need to render. Time/speed is an issue as I work in a live event enviroment. Anyway this software only works on PC and I have found out that it is just not possible to run smoothly in Parallels/VM. I have a 17" i7" 8gb ram macbook pro for on-site.I also used keynote, playback pro and other mac software so Bootcamp is a no go. Does anyone have a recommendation for me hopefully with a demo version? There are many 3D text/modelling programs out there but I am yet to see something like Bluff Titler. Cheers in advance. faintaxis
It might be worth looking into Quartz Extreme/Quartz Composer (bundled with every MacOS Install Disk in the Developer Tools section) which is the back-end to most of the graphic effects on MacOS, taking full advantage of OpenGL etc. It'll require a lot of dedication and some programming skills but it's incredibly worth it as it's very powerful. Quartz Extreme powers all the screensavers and some of the iTunes visualisers bundled with MacOS.Hi Guys,I have recently made a complete switch from all PC's to MAC.One of my most on-site used programs was Bluff Titler from outer space software. For those of you who have never used it it was a 3D titling software but it was great for creating moving plasma/starfield backgrounds etc... and throwing effects onto images and text. sleepytom
Apple Motion is worth looking at, it provides a good range of templates and is easy to create animated titles and graphic backgrounds http://www.apple.com...lcutpro/motion/ it's very fast to use compared to things like after effects so you could well find it makes a suitable replacement for Bluff Oh and for what its worth Pete Warden (one of the original motion programmers) comes from a live events background and specifically designed motion to be usable as a realtime visualisation software as well as allowing the rending out of clips. Apple maybe don't make much of this fact on the publicity for motion.
