vinntec
Hi - I am having a preliminary look at some consoles which we could use to replace out existing Sirius, one of which is a Zero 88 Jester 24/48. So I downloaded the offline editor to see how similar it is to the Sirius. Everything fine, except once I have programmed some scenes it always starts up in cue 1 as soon as I go to RUN. I have scoured the manual and cannot find any mention of a cue 0, cue --, or empty cue so I can't figure out how to get it to start in a blank state with cue 1 as next cue - or following on from this how I could insert a cue BEFORE cue 1? This might just be a problem with the offline editor, but the manual doesn't seem to help? Help from Jester users appreciated. Peter
tomo2607
Our school have not long purched a Jester 24/48. As far as I can tell there is no cue 0. The only option is to use cue 1 as your blank cue. As for the offline editor... Its not as efficiant as one might hope. For example on the console you can assign multiple DMX channels to a single fader, on the offline editor you cant  As for your issue inserting addtional cues... If you are in program mode you can select the memory number and rename it, providing you have a USB keyboard attached to the console. Just select any memory number, hit return on the USB keyboard and type in the additional memory using a decimal such as 3.5 or 3.7 etc followed by the return key once more. Then create the lighting state that you wish to add using the faders and then hit the store button on the console. This will then add the memory to the stack. If you dont hit the store button however, the created cue number will vanish rather than stay as a blank cue  Also Im pretty certain that you can only use cues greater than 1.0 so you may have to re-create you cue one as 1.5 and use cue 1 as you blank cue EDIT:Just FYI... This only works to create a new memory, you cant renumber a pre existing memory (or at least I havent found out how to do so yet)
CatC
There is definately no cue 1 to be had, but you can insert cues by pressing the insert button. Also you can also rename cues by moving to the Name field (indicated as < > on the LCD) and pressing enter. Then you can use the flash buttons on preset B row to type. It can be slow, because it's like texting, but if you don't have a keyboard handy its worth knowing.

As for the offline editor... Its not as efficiant as one might hope. For example on the console you can assign multiple DMX channels to a single fader, on the offline editor you cant  I'm not sure this is true - to patch multiple DMX channels to a single fader, simply go into SUPER USER (shift+mode - to hold down shift, right click on it) - then navigate to <DMX Patch>, select the channel you require to patch and push the fader you wish to assign it to. As each DMX address can be individually assigned to a fader, it's possible to have multiple addresses assigned to the same fader. As for your issue inserting addtional cues... If you dont hit the store button however, the created cue number will vanish rather than stay as a blank cue  You can do this using the INSERT key too - select the memory number prior to the one you wish to insert (eg cue 1) and then press INSERT and the desk will 'insert' cues 1.1 through 1.9 on the monitor screen. Use the arrow keys to scroll to the memory you wish to program, and push STORE to record it. Also Im pretty certain that you can only use cues greater than 1.0 so you may have to re-create you cue one as 1.5 and use cue 1 as you blank cueThat is correct - only cues higher than 1.0 can be created. EDIT:Just FYI... This only works to create a new memory, you cant renumber a pre existing memory (or at least I havent found out how to do so yet)You can move a memory using the COPY/PASTE function - select the memory you want to move, push COPY/PASTE, move to the new location, press SHIFT+COPY/PASTE, and then return to the original and delete it. I hope this helps - please feel free to drop me a note if you have any further questions on the Jesters. Peter

This has helped me learn more of this desk too :D As for Multiple DMX to a single fader... Thanks soooo much. Ive been trying to do this on the editor for an age and not figured it out. On our console you can manually select the channel number as well as selecting the DMX channel. So I would just set the various DMX to the same channel number. On the Offline editor I cant do this. Rather than push the fader though I have to use the flash button beneth it to assign the selected DMX to the relevent fader Thanks Again
vinntec
Hi everyone - thanks for the replies. It makes sense now, although still not sure why cue 0 doesn't exist or why the desk doesn't start up with the first cue next, rather than active. However making cue 1 a blackout sorts these concerns out. Peter
