ceecrb1
Just wondering how often people find they need to replace these.. we've had some of ours out on a medium term hire.. and of the 8 hired, 5 have diacs broked. All were in their flightcases without the brakes set etc etc.... clearly we're going to invoice them this one!! mumbles
Nothing like that often. Currently we've got 14 plus spares on weekly moves on the tour I'm on, and in the first 9 weeks we've had to replace one set, and that was put down to a very heavy hands local. Other than that they've been fine, yes they will occasionally go, and the rougher you are when handling them or packing the truck the more often that will be, but as I say it's not something that should be happening too often, at least in my experience, YMMV
ceecrb1
yeah I´m used to changing a few a YEAR.. but this one job has been unbelievable.of 8 mac2k performance, 5 with bad diacs..2 were replaced weeks ago because "they stopped working" I´ve since replaced some internal fuses and some capacitors on the main board (ie someone sent a nasty voltage spike at them from somewhere).we also have some Chinese movers they had... they had 20 of these... 9 of which need repairing, again same issues.. diacs and some DMX receiver boards fried.Every single fixture is needing cleaned out... after weeks of ringside abuse in a circus.... they are rather sandy... we will be charging them and wont be hiring them anything ever again...........
