Mark Payne
Hi All Now and again I take some time to actually remember that I CAN do something usefull with my hands other than push paper around and do deals! So with my new vari-focal shortsighted glasses, a steady hand, appropriate tooling and slow set epoxy resin I am now a "proven expert" (ok ... I have done two!) in reterminating replacement DPA Micro Dot connectors. I am rather pleased with myself! Mark Payne ;-)

cedd
Firstly, well done! I've not managed yet!I've got to ask......Is this post in order to drum up trade for you terminating them? Or are you going to share your methods with us? I'd certainly be interested in knowing how you did it. Or did it just take you that long and that much frustration to do that you just HAD to tell somebody you'd managed?

kitlane
For some reason I read the subject line as 'Microdet'. I thought you had found a way to get your own back on annoying singists.

And I thought I was the only one who wondered if an SM57 packed with suitable "plastic material" could be detonated by phantom power...;-)
Mark Payne
Hi Ceed The method is documented on a sheet that comes with the tooling (about 30 steps!). I would think this job to be near impossible without the special tools. I am happy to hire the tooling out if anyone has need (PM me) or we will do them at £50 a pop. No Ceed, I am not tring to drum up trade! I am not sure my plans of world domination are going to have much to do with the massive market I see in reterminating Microdots (hmm maybe I should go on Dragons Den?)! I could be wrong ;-) Sound Network (DPA UK distribution) freely admit that they send them back to Denmark and the turn around is not great. So we have the tools and the skills. Take your pick!
