timsabre
So I got this camera from Ebay for using for web streaming our church services. It is a Tevicom TS-2321, also seems to be sold as KDS-2321.We already have a Pelco camera with a Pelco KBD300 controller, and this camera says it will accept Pelco-P. However unlike the Pelco camera it has no configuration switches or anything, and it boots up showing 2400 baud on the onscreen display, but the Pelco controller runs at 9600. The only information I have managed to find on the web after massive googling is a brochure sheet which says, rather obscurely, that it's configured using the on-screen display, but how?? Has anyone come across a similar camera to this and know how to configure it?
smalljoshua
Are you saying that there is no form of user input on the head at all? If there isn't it is likely that there is a proprietary control protocol that can be used to set the settings. It might be possible to change the output rate of the Pelco controller to 2400 baud. timsabre
Hi Josh,Yes, I have had it in bits and there are no switches or option links or anything like that.I can only assume you configure it down the RS485 control line, but I have found quite a lot of websites selling this camera and none of them show any kind of proprietary controller needed to set it up. We can't change the Pelco controller, it's fixed at 9600. Edit:: Doh!! It does have dip switches, just in a rather unexpected place...
ferretwrangler
Hi, We have a few dome cameras, they are generally configured via RS-485 connection. Our controller can have its baud rate changed. Therefore you change the controller to 2400 and then use the command to open the config of the camera. On ours you type 9 - 5 - PRESET This opens an on screen menu where using the joystick and focus buttons you can alter the menu settings for the dome. Once the baud rate on the cam is changed then you can adjust the controller baud. However, this may only be the way ours work - they certainly dont exhibit any dip switches that we can find. Maybe thats of some help?
timsabre
Thanks Ferretwrangler, that's a big help. From further googling of your info I see that recalling various presets, eg Preset 95, can be used to get up the OSD menu on the dome. I will try it later. Ferretwrangler, you're a star, Preset 95 was the answer!!(Also the controller was actually running at 4800 baud rather than the 9600 baud the manual says).Anyway, all working now.
