I have a setup in a bar that I designed it consists of:

4x martin mac250

4x pro spot 150 moving heads

2x milltec mts scanners

all running on american dj my DMX

everything is fine accept one of the mac250's isnt moving much, if I set up a scene to pan them high up all the others do it apart from this one that really just moves slowly about not in time with the rest, all the gobos are colours are the same as the the rest of the other mac250's

I just cant see why this is happening which one of them because if I set up still scenes where I face them all at the wall its fine I can pan and tilt it controlling it just when I set it up to do one of the custom scenes. (my DMX has a option where you can select what lights and has custom scenies aavailable)

Now I dont know if this is a problem with the DMX control software of the light....

if you are using them in Mode 3/4 they have a pan/tilt speed control function on channel 10/12.

alternately, try patching the one that isn't happy to the same DMX as one that is, if it is still having problems it'll be some form of hardware problem (loose belt, dodgy stepper motor etc) and you'll have to take it apart/get it fixed.

I tried both things and had no luck, im guessing its a stepper motor, the thing pans fine but you can see it struggling when trying to tilt, but when I manually control it to sit at a certain point it seems fine

The OP needs to isolate the fixture and test each DMX channel.

Can you manually control Pan / Tilt and all is well? If it works fine under manual control, then it's not the motor, it's a controller / settings issue.
