Neil Gavin
Hi All, I have recently aquired an ex-theatre 24 channel Soundcraft Venue2 desk that I intend to use for our band on larger gigs. It was sold as faulty ( and it certainly is ).I have stripped it down to the chassis and cleaned/inspected each of the channel strips. The input channels seem fine but I get no output to the main bus - and possibly the groups also ( at least no activity on the the led vu meters and only a very little audio bleed through the headphones )Auxes seem fine however. The master mutes will not latch and you get a big audible thump through the headphones when you pfl any channel.I suspuct the main output module strip has failed but without a schematic I am lost and I dont want to have to start replacing components and hope I get lucky ! Can anyone offer any advice ?I am going to try Soundcraft to see about a repair but I suspect they will want the whole desk returned which due to the weight may be prohibitively expensive.I am based in the Midlands so if anyone can recommend a local firm that would be great - or if anyone has a spare output module to sell I would be interested. I have also agreed to buy the 32 channel desk ( also a Venue2 ) from the same theatre as they have gone digital, but I have not collected it yet. Does anyone know if these units share the same output module ? - perhaps I can make one good desk out of the two ? Many thanks Neil
whisky-zulu
If you're based in the Midlands - it may worth a shot giving SSE a bell to see if they'd be able to give the desk a service and a look over. I know they have a service facility at one of their sites, I think it's at their Redditch site.

rgye
Soundcraft have an efficient service manual operation, delivered electronically (see their website). It costs a few pounds but if you are up to it might help you make the repair yourself.
