Attaching Film to Plywood

I tried to use this a few years ago to create a mirror. I messed up the first one quite badly.

Which one have you bought?

Silver shrink mirror is the common one, but there's a slightly thinner one that isn't shrinkable - well it does a bit, but not as much as the other one. This, was the one I tried to use. I used spray adhesive and then tried to stick it down. Messed it up badly - wrinkles and creases. I suspect that if I'd spaced it away from the panel and just doubled the edges over and stapled it - it would have been fine. Just don't try glue like I did!

That Rosco film can be a bit tricky. I have used it before. Cheaper than shrink mirror and more effective if done correctly.

Because it's so thin, sticking it to plywood will show all the grain in the wood. I find that it's better to attach it to MDF because it has a much smoother surface.

Spray on carpet adhesive is the best glue to use. Normal spray mount doesnt have enough grab. Once you have coated the MDF roll the film out slowly pushing out any bubbles as you go.
