torchwood11
Hello, People :** laughs out loud **: B-) At our school we have a Zero 88 Fat Frog Lighting console that can be operated and programmed fine. but whenever the power is turned off to the console it forgets all of the programming done.we use the desk with four Zero 88 Beta pack 3's which run through DMX 512. (if this helps) I have been through the manual and still cant find a solution. I have also reset the console but still it does this. I need to fix this ASAP as on the 17th febuary some of the A-Level students have a devised Piece which they will be performing and at this moment they have nothing programmed in for their piece. :( Any help Will Be greatly appreciated and if you need any more information I will be happy to provide. (if I know :P ) Many thanksLuke
themadhippy
sounds like the internal battery, couldnt you save to disc until its fixed?
torchwood11
have tried saving to floppy disc but when the show loads it will only load the first three pages of submasters and no memories :( Although under desk information it says that the battery status is 'OK' ( Sorry should have put that in) but I dont know if that is its charge level or not :o
ramdram
Try this link: http://support.zero88.com/main/en/product/9 Then ring the support line number at bottom of page. I have asked for their help in the past and the bloke I spoke to was kindness himself...despite the fact the desk I wanted to know more about was virtually an antique. SoLiEn
Ive had this problem. Replace the battery. ignore the OK status. its a lie. replace the battery and you will find all is ok. Dan e2a- if you are not up to the task, ask the person in charge of the desk. its a simple enough job, if you are local to sussex I might beable to pop along and do it for you. torchwood11
Sorry for sounding like a complete idiot but....What battery type does it take? And is there a special place to buy it from? Many thanksLuke
peter
Hi Luke As others have said, a flat battery is the most likely cause for this behaviour. The battery is a standard CR2032 battery which you should be able to pick up from local PC stores (they're used on motherboards for most home PCs) or if not, RS and the like stock them. If you have any questions on fitting the battery, please give us a call on 01633 838088. I hope this helps, Peter
Kingstech
Fat Frogs gotta love them decent desks for schools and small productions... alright for some intelligent fixtures... but can be really annoying... but once you get to know them they get better... I had the same problem, replaced the battery and it all started working fine again. Callum
mark_s
Fat Frogs gotta love them decent desks for schools and small productions...but can be really annoying... but once you get to know them they get better... Surely that's the same with any piece of technology that you don't actually understand how to use?
Kingstech
yeah it is... but people seem to hate Frogs, I dont find them that bad to use... but I have tried newer desks and they are a lot better... but for what I use it for its fine
SoLiEn
I dont think its that the forum in general hate frogs, I think its more of the fact that the younger members of the forum seem to recommend them at every turn for jobs which our way out of the frogs normal stamping ground. The Frog series is good for school environments, simple to use, you can jump onto a desk and use it instantly for generics if you have never touched a control desk before. That is its stomping ground in my view.
