Ben Lawrance
Howdy, Does anyone know if you can transfer a program from a BSS Omnidrive to a Minidrive? Or will it be easier to manually input the settings? CheersBen
Peter F
Does anyone know if you can transfer a program from a BSS Omnidrive to a Minidrive? Or will it be easier to manually input the settings? BSS have an especially useful user support forum. BSS Audio User GroupsIf it is possible to do the transfer between the different devices, that will be the place to find out how to do it. The Minidrive and, if I remember correctly, Omnidrive connection between PC and device is RS232 serial port. I think they advise against using a USB adapter. I can understand why, they're success rate tends to be a bit hit and miss. You will also need a 9 pin null modem cable and a copy of the BSS software (London Architect I think, check on the website) If you are only trying to copy 1 preset between 2 devices it almost certainly is quicker to just do it manually. Takeiteasy
I've tried this before and couldn't get it to work :( but then I was using a USB converter off ebay so maybe that was the problem ** laughs out loud ** If you do find a way to make it work let us know Ben as its always handy to know these little things
swampman
With respect to the RS232 most desktops still have at least one (and some older laptops) - for semi-industrial PC (shop checkout desks, scanners, ticket printers etc) you could get a PCI card which goes inside... giving from 2 to 8+ ports (addresses usually set by software drivers) on a card. Just a sugestion, if tweaking can be done after transfering all the data, use your "warehouse" stock desktop to transfer before taking it out (1?) Chappie
I only ever found one USB adaptor that worked for this, so gave up on them. Something like this works well though.
