swampman
Been given a Samson TM500 mixer for repair but the problem has arisen with other bits of gear: audio and lighting desks We are now used to the white based smaller sliders for mixers etc but pre 1990 equipment used 60/100mm sliders with a brown base for the tracks, some details which set them aside: a height (handle to bottom solder point: 29mm; length (overall) 99mm hole centres: 88mm. width of single resistor type 12mm... RS have some wider ones but only in single for the 60mm version and only 10k log. Farnell worse. The TM500 uses 5k on mic channels and 2*10k stereo as well as the 2*10k for master L&R (and other gear to be fiddled with also has had 5k') I wonder if the circuits would tolerate using the 10k'. At 6.00GBP a time I am hesitant about ordering the RS ones. The question is WHO can now supply these for the sector ? The local supplier of Samson has said this part is no longer available, I have also had a similar situation for Peavey gear.

You might try Cricklewood Electronics - slide pots for some of the older type slider pots, there are/were a number of dual track ones from the same manufacturer which the might be able to source? hope this assistsMik
swampman
Just the business, will try down that route - thanks Audiomik Edit:Oops, pity they only do linear 5k but that helps for some lighting desks anyway.
KevinE
Have you tried Korg? They are the UK importers. But are you in Spain?
swampman
Well just to finish the post off and admit a big oops (!): We had measured the single channel slider in circuit which gave the wrong value... Should be 10klog, which is listed. However, we still like 1k linears for old light desks, but that is another dream! This oooops was discovered after extricating the end slider for channel 1 (we did not want to undo the whole front panel until parts were available - lazy?!) while we had to modify the rear of the unit to install Speakons in parallel with the jacks (the use of jacks caused considerable nuisance when desks were moved around between locations or a replacement desk was used.) So conclusion: Cricklewood, RS and possibly CPCFarnell once you get through the parametrics and compare prices. Thanks to all from the far Southern Europe where donkey transport can stall without carrots.
