mcnallca
I am heading out on tour with a show in mid to late march, and have, after much research and confusion, decided to go with the software version of Jands Vista, (I am sure that there will be lots of people on here raving about MagicQ but I just cannot get my head round it.) I plan to purchase the 128 channel version, and dont at all mind paying the requested price for the software. I do however mind paying 340 pounds (list price) for the USB to DMX output that Jands manufacture. does anyone know if the software will output on for instance the ENTTEC DMX USB PRO which is much more reasonably priced. I hope that I haven't reposted a topic but I did search and couldn't find anything. Cheers, Colm.
peza2010
I did a quick (very quick) google... And it turned up this http://www.jandsvista.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=686&start=0#_thread So the answer is unfortunately a no...But compared to consoles prices, £340 is a drop in the ocean... If it was me I would spend the time getting your head around magic Q and get a mini wing for practically the same price as that dongle (I'm working from and old chamsys price list for the record)
Paul Turner
Peza is correct in saying it wont work with the USB-DMX device. Vista software will only work with vista hardware, however you can use an artnet box, and get DMX out of that. Just to let you know, Jands have a special offer at the moment on the M1 wing.If you buy an M1, you get a 128ch dongle free. (whilst Stocks last) its fully V2 "Byron" ready, so you get the next generation software free when its launched (Byron is public Beta testing at the moment) if anybody has any questions, please feel free to get in touch.
