Dmx512
When I start up my Pearl expert the time counter just keeps counting...........rang Avolites and they said do a forced shutdown then open up the console and remove the memory stick inside then put it back in and this will solve the problem.....yes it does until you shut down and then restart and the same problem happens....any Ideas?..........Dave
AndyJones
I had a simular issue with one of our Pearls, unfortunalty soon after the whole desk crashed and refused to boot up. It's currently at Avo being repaired. It Might be a good time for you to back up any critical show files!
MatSpencer
Make sure all the chips are pushed fully in. Same to all the USBs. HTHMat
timsabre
I have fixed this in the past by reloading the system using the recovery disk. If the Windows XP installation gets screwed up it can just sit there counting. Incidentally, I have always wondered about all the weird messages it comes up with on the LCD screen while booting - "Purging stagnant pipes" and stuff like that. I assume it's some sort of programmer's in-joke at Avo but I have never found out for sure.
niclights
This really is something only Avo support can solve. No harm in calling again explaining that it didn't work. I agree with Tim though. Not much to lose in trying the recovery CD. AFAIK all the silly boot stuff comes directly from the screen panel firmware.
lampygirl
Our expert went through a phase of doing this. I found it was only happening when a well as being shut down it wasn't being switched off at the back. Try making sure the switch at the back gets switched off every time you shut down the console, then when you start it up make sure you give the desk juice, switch it on at the back and then the front. I haven't had any problems since religiously following this. Agree it's probably worth speaking to Avo though, they've been very helpful when our desks have had hissy fits
