lightsource Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Paulears is right. It's not particularly good netiquette to bring differences from one forum onto another. If people have problems with the Blue Room, we'd prefer that they air them here (in the "Issues" forum) rather than take them elsewhere. The same courtesy should be given to PSW and Soundforums--using the BR to criticise the people who run those, when they may not even read this site, seems unfair. However, for now at least, this thread remains open but we'd like to remind all concerned that the BR has rules about personal attacks as well. We don't want to become a venue for airing somebody else's dirty linen. Bob/Mods To be honest, Bob, in my post, I wasn't really critisizing anything, but looking at more of a business model.Let's face it, the Blue Room has had an update, and those involved seem to have done a pretty good job. There's a couple of minor niggles, but that's about it. However, if we look at a other web updates, then MySpace has to be the perfect model of how not to run a business. From a personal point of view, changes were made to MySpace that ablolutley destroyed their customer base, everyone left the sinking ship, and we're all now on Facebook. We all have to remember, that People don't like change, if I set up a site the way I like it, then I don't want it to be altered by some moron who think's it would be better 'their way' On the back of this we have to suffer the bandwith of the constant 'Streams' of useless comments from people we don't really know in the first place, or massive Jpeg posters of people putting on events that were many months or even years ago. I feel the same holds true for Foums, there is a 'community' of people. Change things radically, and you won't be the flavour of the month.
John Norris Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 But it is really sad that they are using the same ###### software the Lab uses. At least the Lab operators can (finally) see a duck when it quacks, even though they made a monumental balls-up in terms of continuity and progression. As of Feb.9, they now use a more modern software platform.
dbuckley Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 VBulletin. Much better. Now theres two pro-audio forums with decent software. Choices, choices...
