Kingstech
were based in guildford and we have a stage depth of 6 meters and a pros arch of about 6 meters by 4 meters high, with a thrust of 5x4 meters, and a side stage of 3 x5 meters.Dimesions and area done.were looking for a car, either to build or hire. How would we go about making one? Where would we hire one from? The car has to be light enough to lift on to stage and move around easily by students. Any ideas or tip? Brian
From all the previous posts you've read here about cars for stage use, which ideas have you considered already and which have you rejected?
Simon Lyall
Have you given the Yvonne arnauld or Guildford school of acting a shout? Both are only down the road and may be able to help. Simon
Kingstech
Our director is trying to avoid making the car out of wood as it might look cheesy and unprofessional, and as for the possibilities of making one out of an existing car isnt any good as it would cost more to make one... we doubt they will have any... Simon Lyall
yeah, we dont know. are there any places we could try hiring from. as were unsure about the GSA and yvonne arnaud Call them and speak to them. The Yvonne crew are a really nice bunch and would be happy to help out where they could no doubt. Their scenery stock is huge and very good! As with GSA, they may have a student needing project to make something... So two birds with one stone. Simon
robhall3192
wood base, large sheets of polystyrene from B&Q, then carve away. Scrim the edges and smooth with newspaper and wall paper paste then paint and gloss to finish =]
