frgmnt
I have to repair a Strandlight ACT 6+ dimmer. One channel is dead, but neither the triacs nor the fuses are blown. When I measured at the opto couplers there was a faulty trigger signal (wrong polarity & distortion). Chasing the traces on the dimmer board I got lost. A schematic is, what is desparately needed. Anyone got an idea where to find one. I looked already on the philips page and that of the strand-archive but nada.. Thanks a lot for any help, Jo
maeterlinck
I did a similar job a while back. I've sent a PM for a link to the schematic I have. Mine was dead transformer.
nkuhlman
Howdy. I have a room full of dead & dying Act6 Plusses. The mother-in-law will be very impressed if I can resurrect some of these. I'd appreciate greatly a link to a board schematic. Also links to any basic information on dimmer theory of operation, troubleshooting practices and the like. PCB experience I have, dimmers not. Thanks in advance. Nathan
frgmnt
Thanks again, maeterlinck, for the info. I put it in a zip file: frgmnt.org/sub/ACT6+.zip Nathan, I will PM you.. A really testet solution to the testing of the triacs: http://frgmnt.org/sub/TriacTest.png Its best to test triacs under load, only very small ones can be tested with a multimeter.NB: The schematic depicts my own setup. The 3,3 Ohm resistor is only necessary to limit the 24V AC,with 12V AC it is not needed. The other resistor could be any value between 220..1k Ohm. cheers Jo
