RTFM??

(Read the f**king manual) :)

And you can work out the current (amps) by dividing the power (watts) by voltage (probably 230v if in the Uk), every lantern manual will have what lamp it takes which a quick google will show you what power it takes...

I mean seriously, no offence but a student on an industry related course should have covered this! It's basic electrics!

Firstly, the wattage is up to the LD (up to the maximum possible for each unit). So, a 1000w Par64 can easily be used with a 500w lamp in it or a 750w Source Four Profile can be used with a 575w lamp. Divide the wattage by mains vltage (nominally 230v but often nearer 240v in the UK) and you'll get the current (in amps). One 1000w lantern will take the same curent as any other 1000w lantern. Finally, I'm not sure why you need to know the current for the patch sheet? My patch sheets show lantern type, wattage, accessories, colour, desk channel, dimmer channel (if different) and that's about it. Can't remember ever putting the current on a patch sheet (if for no other reason than if the Chief LX is given the wattage then they can work out the current by themselves).
