obi wan kenobi
Hi, can anyone recommend an effective feedback killer that is reasonably priced? Thanks
Bobbsy
The topic of feedback destroyers has been done several times before in here. On useful one with a discussion about how they work and what to look for can be found HERE but if you search for "feedback destroyer" with the quotes you'll find lots of others. Basically the cheapest one is probably a Behringer FBQ2496 (or some of their EQ units have built in feedback suppressors too). The next step up the ladder, at between £400 and £500 are units by Sabine and DBX. I've tried the Sabine and it was okay, never tried the DBX. With any of them though, the usual advice is NOT to use them in full automatic mode. Instead, with an empty hall, go through and find/suppress all the worst frequencies then lock them off. Letting them hunt in auto will probably also suppress any sustained notes in the band. Anyway, since this has been done before, I'll close this thread now. However, once you've read through the previous debates about whether feedback destroyers are a good thing, feel free to add to an existing thread or, if you have a new and specific question, post a new query.
