googling non stop and getting no-where...

anybody know of some nice basic analog to digital and digi- analog converters that I can use with my ls9 2 track in/outs?

Input I´d be happy with unbalanced.. output would be nice to be balanced..

Just purchasing my ls9 16 now so not looking to spend too much cash... going for adat card and a rack of behringer ada8000´s is for another day!!

Just seems useful to have the extra output and an always ready ipod input being there..

Looks an appropriate unit - are you short of inputs as you stand?

It's good that the unit you've chosen has a workclock in, as I was going to warn that the LS9 doesn't seem to have sample rate convert on the SPDIF inputs (like the 01V / DM series used to) so whatever you're using on the digital input has to be clocked to the desk, or alternatively you have the external equipment (be it CD player or whatever) use it as the clock master, which is a bit worrying.

I would n´t say "short" on I/O´s.. but my next big rig in 2 weeks (valencia fashion week)... will fill ALL 8 outputs.

2 for main pa.

1 for subs.

1 for control monitor.

2 for the TV/VTR

1 for Bar/relax area.

1 for backstage monitors.

as you can see... thats me maxed the desk out.. and at such a low low price.. the extra 2 channels being there if some strange surprise were to pop up... well it just seems silly not to spend that cash to have the margin!

It really doesnt warrant the price of an addon card (at 4 times the price of this unit), when in the end I might not even need it.

Little by little.

This is the first major step into my own company that I will be launching in january 2012! (this date as I will be getting a decent contract signed over to me then).

There is a similar discussion going on at PSW. The RDL HR-ADC1 is an analog to digital converter that accepts pretty much any kind of input, and puts out coaxial SPDIF, coaxial AES, and balanced AES digital. It also has an AES input so you can clock it to WC.

The RDL HR-DAC1 takes all 3 of those digital audio signals and converts them to analog on unbalanced RCA, balanced XLR, or balanced terminal block.
